Overview
Experienced Social Worker required for this NT service. This is a remote 60 bed hospital. The service requires high level skills as a sole Social Worker and demonstrated cultural competence working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. There is a high incidence of domestic and family violence, child neglect and abuse reporting and statutory child removal, as well as provide services across:
- Sexual violence
- ED presentations
- Crisis response (adults and paediatrics)
- Guardianship
- Advocacy
- NDIS applications
- Inpatients only ED, acute wards general medical, surgical, palliative care, rehabilitation, maternity and paediatrics
- You must have strong crisis response and experience with victims of domestic and sexual violence
Key Skills Required
- Experience providing social work services within a hospital setting (Emergency Department), including crisis intervention and short term support
- Strong knowledge and experience in domestic and family violence risk assessment, safety planning and support services
- Experience working with child protection concerns, including mandatory reporting requirements and liaising with relevant agencies
- Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and after-hours shifts, on call
Logistics
- ASAP until 6th October + possible extension
- Return flights covered and free accommodation
- A driving license is required for this role
- Locum rates dependent on experience
- This role requires you to be eligible for AASW membership
