South West Aboriginal Medical Service – Bunbury WA

The South West Aboriginal Medical Services (SWAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health service based in Bunbury. We provide a comprehensive range of health and wellbeing services to Aboriginal people across the South West, Great Southern, Upper Wheatbelt, and Peel regions of Western Australia.

Our services include GP clinics, primary health care, counselling, and a variety of community programs designed to support holistic wellbeing.

SWAMS is committed to continuous growth through strong partnerships and community development, ensuring we meet the evolving needs of the communities we serve.

The SWAMS is dedicated to enhancing employment opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This position is designated under Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA), and as such, only Aboriginal people are eligible to apply.

We are excited to offer a Part time Marketing Administrator (known as Marketing Officer at SWAMS) role and the best part? No prior marketing experience is required – just your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Working in an Aboriginal medical service means being part of something deeply meaningful. You'll help share stories that celebrate culture, promote health, and build trust within the community. Every campaign, social media post, and flyer you help create will have a purpose – to uplift and inform.

We'll teach you everything you need to know – from basic design and writing skills to how to manage social media. You'll gain hands‐on experience in

* Creating engaging content that reflects our values and mission
* Promoting health programs and services in culturally respectful ways
* Collaborating with passionate teams who care deeply about community wellbeing.

This opportunity is perfect for someone that has some great administration experience along with being curious and creative.

* Demonstrated administration experience
* Demonstrated skills to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Demonstrated time management and organisational skills.
* Knowledge and understanding of the local Aboriginal culture

Proof of Aboriginality

For positions designated as 50(d) roles, proof of Aboriginality must be provided prior to scheduling or conducting interviews. Below is the documentation accepted by SWAMS as proof of Aboriginality:

* SWAMS Membership
* Confirmation of Aboriginality from another Aboriginal owned Organisation that includes the Common Seal
