The role
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Equipment Hire Manager to lead the day to day hire operations of the business. This is a hands on role for someone who can oversee equipment hire activity from enquiry through to delivery, return and review, while also managing staff, stock flow, supplier coordination and customer service. You will play a key role in keeping the hire side of the business running smoothly, efficiently and profitably in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Oversee day to day equipment hire operations
* Manage and support warehouse, logistics and operations staff
* Respond to enquiries and provide practical hire solutions
* Help guide stock, pricing and purchasing decisions
* Manage supplier relationships and related services
* Support sales activity and build strong client relationships
* Work closely with internal teams on quoting, scheduling and fulfilment
* Monitor equipment utilisation, presentation and service standards
* Improve systems, processes and reporting
* Maintain a strong focus on customer service, efficiency and commercial outcomes
Your Experience
* Experience in equipment hire, event hire, operations management or a similar role
* Strong leadership skills in a fast paced environment
* Commercial awareness and sound operational judgement
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities
* Strong communication and relationship management skills
* Confidence using business systems, reporting tools and Microsoft Office
* A practical, solutions focused approach and strong attention to detail
* Experience in events, hire, logistics or related industries will be highly regarded
