· Manage project operations in
accordance with project directives and deliverables
· Ensure site WHS is maintained at all
times
· Participate in bid process as
directed, provide constructability, programming and project implementation
strategies for inclusion within the bid submission
· Provide oversight and guidance on
trade package scoping
· Identification of areas of risk and
opportunities in each tender
· Monitoring of cost plans and
practical cost saving design solutions for execution by design consultant
· Liaise with the Site Manager to
ascertain any design errors, omissions and ambiguity for follow up and
resolution with the relevant authority
· Liaise with the Contracts
Administrator and Contracts Manager to assist in the development of commercial
strategy
· In conjunction with the Site Manager
develop and monitor construction programs and liaise with the Construction
Manager / Contracts Manager highlighting areas of progress or deficiency
· Ensure records are kept relating to
and maintain contact and communication with clients, consultants,
subcontractors, suppliers and local authorities
· Identification of areas of risk and
opportunities in the project and in each trade package for resolution with the
Contracts Administrator
· Participate in the selection and
recommendation of subcontractors, the letting of the subcontracts and items
relative to market forces
· Assist the Site Manager as required
to coordinate subcontractor planning to ensure adherence to project completion
program and minimise operational conflicts
· Manage and approve material
procurement in accordance with the Project Authority Matrix
· In consultation with the Site Manager
assess plant and labour resource requirements for the project and communicate
recommendations to Construction Manager
· Assist the Site Manager to develop
processes for deficient areas as work progresses.
Requirements
Minimum level of knowledge/skills/training required to carry out
the job:
· Minimum of 15 years in the construction or
civil industry with senior level experience on major projects
· Recognised relevant qualification or
minimum of 15 years in the construction or civil industry with senior level experience
on major projects o Minimum of 10 years in estimating, administration and
project management o Or other relevant qualification o Or other relevant
industry experience
· Complete understanding of: o
Construction or civil materials and methods o Management skills
· Project programming experience
· Sound contract administration
· Excellent time management, personnel
management and organisational skills
· WHS for Supervisors
· Nationally Recognised Construction
