Fixed Term Part-Time role - 30 Hours per week
Primary Objective
Lead coordination with internal Central Desert Regional Council teams and external partners to support effective competition delivery and workforce development. This includes working closely with Community Safety Patrol teams to support travel, competitions and risk management; partnering with peak sporting organisations (e.g. AFL, basketball and other relevant codes) to support accredited training, coaching and umpire pathways; and engaging with schools, local authorities, community organisations and relevant NGOs to align activities with community priorities and strengthen participation pathways.
About Us
Central Desert Regional Council is a local government authority covering an area of over 282,000 square kilometres. The Council provides a range of services in 12 communities to the north of Alice Springs, including Lajamanu, Ti Tree, Wilora, Nturiya, Pmara Jutunta, Willowra, Laramba, Nyirripi, Yuelamu, Atitjere, Engawala, and Yuendumu, as well as several homelands and outstations. The Central Desert area is considered remote and disadvantaged, with over 80% of the population being Aboriginal.
