Join our dynamic People and Culture team at Charles Darwin University as a People Services Consultant, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience across the University.
In this fast-paced and rewarding position, you’ll drive the delivery of high-quality HR services across the full employee lifecycle. You’ll partner closely with hiring managers to provide expert guidance on recruitment and onboarding activities as well as providing expert advice across a broad range of operational activities, including employee services.
As the People Services Consultant, you’ll also oversee a small, high-performing team of People Services Officers—coaching and supporting them to manage a high volume of queries with professionalism and efficiency. Your leadership will ensure the team consistently delivers responsive, solutions-focused support. About the role:
The People Services Consultant position includes the following duties:
* Provide expert advice and recommendations on implementing best measures to ensure optimal operations delivery
* Develop a strong profile, network and relationships across each portfolio and the broader organisation to become a trusted business advisor
* Provide managers with high-level assistance and make recommendations to support employment changes
* Handle employee queries and provide advice on complex matters related to HR Operations
* Provide training and support to hiring managers and selection panels on recruitment best practice
* Ensure a well-supported relocation process for eligible employees in line with University Policy & Procedures
* Liaise with external organisations to ensure up-to-date information regarding visa applications, and act as the conduit between the candidate and the business unit to facilitate visa applications.
* Ensure continuous improvement by identifying and recommending enhancements to HR processes and procedures.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
* Proven experience in HR Administration in a large organisation
* Excellent time management skills and capacity to organise workloads with minimal supervision to meet regular and conflicting deadlines
* Demonstrated understanding of employee life cycle processes
* High level communication skills and ability to engage with all levels of stakeholders
* Creative thinker and proactive problem solver
* Commitment to the University’s values.
Desirable competencies
* Experience within the education sector
* Advanced user capability with LinkedIn, SEEK and a range of online job boards
* Hands-on experience working with TechnologyOne, or similar HR systems.
Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and a valid NT Working with Children clearance
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 6/7. The base salary will be in the range of $89,487 – $105,992 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $104,699 - $124,010 per annum, inclusive of 17% superannuation.
