Earn $79,122 - $96,073 per year plus super (VPS Grade 3)
Where you will be working
Western Plains Correctional Centre is a modern, maximum‑security prison focused on rehabilitation, housing up to 1248 people in custody. Western Plains features multi‑purpose infrastructure which is adaptable to the evolving needs of Corrections Victoria and the people in our care. Modern amenities include medical wards, a cultural centre, and vocational training facilities.
Western Plains provides a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to individualized care which motivates, encourages and promotes reintegration into the community. What You Will Do
The Program Facilitator forms part of the multi‑disciplinary Offender Services team, which is responsible for the development, co‑ordination and delivery of a range of programs and services across several specialist portfolios: transition and reintegration, family engagement, disability, diversity and complex care.
The Program Facilitator co‑ordinates and delivers a range of programs that address the rehabilitation needs of remand and sentenced cohorts. This includes providing support, guidance and motivation to program participants to ensure effective engagement, positive behaviour change, and life skills development.
The position contributes to the delivery of the Corrections Victoria Reintegration Pathway and participates in case‑planning and case management activity, as required.
In addition, the position will contribute to and support the location to embed a positive pro‑social environment, and a connected, multi‑disciplinary approach to rehabilitation.
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
* Demonstrated understanding of the rehabilitation needs and issues experienced by people in custody.
* Experience in co‑ordinating and facilitating programs, preferably within a rehabilitation or social services field.
* Demonstrated capability to work with people who are difficult to engage individually, and in group settings.
* Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with diverse cohorts, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
