About the Position
The role of a Targeted Care Packages Support Worker is pivotal in ensuring the well-being and effective transition of children or young persons from residential care.
Targeted Care Packages (TCPs) offer personalized funding allocations based on individual needs, aimed at preventing entry into residential care or facilitating a smooth transition.
TCPs provide flexibility to cater to diverse child and carer needs, making it an innovative approach in supporting vulnerable individuals.
As a casual support worker, your responsibilities will include collaborating with keyworkers to address emotional and functional needs, developing personal skills, managing administrative tasks, and offering practical assistance.
This opportunity is situated in Mt Gambier, SA, within our Flexible Funding Packages – Children, Youth and Family Services Program.
You will be reporting directly to the TCP Coordinator.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Relevant tertiary qualifications are essential for this role.
* A valid driver's license and ability to drive MacKillop vehicles are mandatory.
* Knowledge of the Children, Youth and Families Act, as well as policies related to child welfare, family services, and Child Protection Services, is required.
* An understanding of trauma and its impact on children and young people is crucial for success in this position.
* Demonstrated experience working in the community sector is highly valued.
