The Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL) is a leading Australian infectious diseases reference laboratory located in Melbourne, Victoria. VIDRL is part of the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (the Doherty), a joint venture between the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the University of Melbourne.
Responsibilities
* Processing of primary samples for routine culture and microscopy
* Processing of routine samples for molecular assays
* Assist with the receipt of laboratory consumables
* Other duties as may be directed from time to time
Qualifications
* Experience in basic laboratory techniques
* Experience working in a diagnostic laboratory
* Experience in handling infectious materials
* Experience with the use of an autoclave
