Location: Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, Australia.
Here's what awaits you
* Being directed by Operators to ensure benches are maintained to the correct levels with good housekeeping to ensure effective mining operations.
* Ensuring dumps are maintained at correct Relative Level (RL), running surfaces (roads) on dumps and pit floors are smooth and level with all dips filled and protrusions ripped, to meet operating standards.
* Responsible for minimising dilution by not mixing waste and ore, digging ore blocks in the correct direction and facing up ore blocks (front and back) at the correct angles.
* Liaising with the Shovel Operator on how the bench will progress and be removed, identifying hazards and opportunities before they occur to maximise the efforts of all shovel and truck movements.
* Using the digging plan map to remove product to the plan, and mark‑up all voids as either black/white or red/white areas by the end of each day.
* Operating the digger to "pull batters" and load out batter material, this ensures walls are safe and no loose material is likely to fall, also reclaiming the Pit edge as much as possible to ensure all good grade product can be collected.
To thrive in this role, you'll need
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years operating various large production mining machinery in an Open Pit or Quarry environment, and two (2) years all‑round experience in heavy mining machinery including but not limited to loaders, excavators, diggers, water and haul trucks. It is essential that you reside in the Goldfields Region, have a strong understanding of mining sequence processes and activities, and possess good computer literacy. Dispatching experience is not essential but desirable.
Qualifications: A Current Unencumbered 'C' Class Drivers Licence. Current MR Drivers Licence and Quarry Manager Certificate not essential but desirable.
