Animal Attendant Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to support our clinic's client care and nursing teams as an Animal Attendant.
* Welcome clients warmly, assist with appointments and ensure a smooth clinic flow.
* Build strong relationships with empathy and professionalism, using pets' names, offering treats, and creating a calm visit.
* Manage reception duties, including answering phones, processing payments, and maintaining accurate client records.
* Promote preventative health care, the Best for Pet program, and premium/prescription diets.
* Maintain cleanliness and presentation in waiting and consult rooms.
Clinical Support:
* Assist vets and nurses during consultations, procedures, and patient care.
* Help with animal restraint, sample collection, radiographs, and patient preparation and recovery.
* Support daily routines, including feeding, cleaning, toileting, and wound care for hospitalized patients.
* Maintain sterile conditions, clean and prepare surgical kits, theatre, and prep areas.
Ongoing Learning:
* Work toward your Certificate II in Animal Studies (or equivalent).
* Engage in ongoing learning with the support of your Practice Manager and team.
About You:
* Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
* Calm, compassionate, and professional under pressure.
* Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
