East Adelaide School is seeking an experienced and dynamic OSHC Director to consultant in our Outside School Hours Care program. This is a full-time role (38 hours per week) located in St Peters, SA 5069. As the consult you are expected to oversee the operations of the service, lead, guide, mentor and support a team which provides quality early childhood education and care to children. The role is responsible and accountable for the overall operations of the service including management, administration and staffing, while ensuring a safe, engaging and enriching environment for our students.
The Role
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the OSHC program, including staffing, planning, implementation and evaluation of activities
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and quality standards for OSHC services
Develop and implement policies, procedures and practices to support the effective delivery of the program
Manage and develop the OSHC team, providing leadership, mentoring and professional development opportunities
Maintain strong relationships with families, the school community and external stakeholders
Manage the OSHC budget and resources to optimise the quality of service delivery
Continuously improve the OSHC program through feedback, innovation and best practice
Qualifications
Degree in Early Childhood from a recognised University or Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years' experience as in a Nominated Supervisor position in an Early Childhood Service or minimum 5 years experience in a leadership position in an Early Childhood Service
Special Conditions
Hold a current approved first aid qualification, anaphylaxis management training and emergency asthma management training as listed on the ACECQA website
Valid Working with Children Check and Responding to Abuse & Neglect Check
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Proven ability in all areas of administrative procedure, curriculum development, parent and community liaison, staff professional development and training, team leadership and management of staff.
Experience in the role of Nominated Supervisor under the Education and Care Services National Law Application Bill 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulations
Demonstrated knowledge of service's requirements of the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) system and ability to perform software application for compliance
Thorough knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and a commitment to upholding quality standards
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with families, schools and the community
Proven experience in program planning, implementation and evaluation to deliver high-quality outcomes
Previous experience in successfully managing a budget for an early education and care service
