Our client is a fund manager that is a dynamic and entrepreneurial funds management business with a global presence, offering retail and wholesale investment products across diverse asset classes. They are seeking a qualified lawyer either recently graduated or with a year or 2 experience to join their team support across legal and compliance.
This role reports into the Chief Legal and Compliance officer and will support the legal and compliance team.
Responsibilities
In this role you will report into the Chief Legal and Compliance officer providing support across the legal team and broader business with respect to legal, compliance and risk. Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with contract review, regulatory disclosures and compliance approvals for marketing materials and new products.
* Performing regular assessments to ensure adherence to compliance policies and identify areas for improvement.
* Assisting in submitting reports to financial regulators including ASIC, ASX and managing compliance records.
* Communicating risk, and compliance obligations across internal teams; including educating and training where required.
* Conducting due diligence across AML/CTF and KYC and other mandated requirements.
* Tracking compliance reports, reviews & transactions.
* Assisting with investigations of compliance breaches, supporting remediation efforts and conducting internal audits.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold qualifications in law with experience either inhouse at a fund manager or within a law firm. Ideally knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements of a funds management business; including experience with key industry regulators. You will also have:
* Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
* Attention to detail whilst maintaining a focus on the big picture.
* Adaptable and flexible to changing business needs.
* Self-starter who is proactive.
* Strong commercial acumen and lateral thinker.
