Position Overview
A Welder/Fabricator is responsible for the construction, repair, and assembly of metal structures and components. This role involves reading blueprints, welding various metal types, and ensuring the finished product meets quality and safety standards. The Welder/Fabricator plays a crucial role in industries such as manufacturing, construction, automotive, and shipbuilding.
Key Responsibilities -
Welding and Fabrication
- Perform a variety of welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding to join metal components.
- Cut, shape, and assemble metal pieces using tools such as grinders, saws, and torches.
- Fabricate metal structures according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Inspect and test welds for durability and quality.
Blueprint Interpretation
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Measure and mark metal materials for cutting and assembly.
- Ensure all fabrication aligns with project requirements and specifications.
Quality Assurance
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Identify and address defects or inconsistencies in welds and materials.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to maintain high standards.
Safety and Maintenance
- Adhere to workplace safety regulations and wear appropriate protective gear.
- Maintain and clean welding tools, machines, and workspaces.
- Follow protocols for handling hazardous materials and ensure safe operation of equipment.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in welding is highly preferred.
- Minimum 1-5 years of experience in welding and fabrication.

- Ability to operate and maintain welding machines and tools.
Work Environment
The Welder/Fabricator typically works in industrial workshops, construction sites, or manufacturing facilities. The role may involve exposure to heat, noise, and hazardous materials. Physical exertion and standing for extended periods are common requirements.
