Job Description:
The Sustaining NSW Families program is a nurse-led, structured health home visiting initiative for children and families from pregnancy to 2 years of age. This role requires a skilled social worker to provide specialist social work and counseling interventions as part of the multidisciplinary team with an early intervention focus.
The child development specialist will work closely with families to enhance parenting capacity, promote healthy family functioning, support families during times of change, and promote infant mental health.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Essential Criteria:
* Degree in Social Work from an accredited course providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
* Extensive experience working with families with complex clinical presentations in relevant clinical settings such as perinatal mental health, child protection, domestic violence, and substance misuse
* Demonstrated advanced specialist therapeutic skills in conducting complex psychosocial assessments and counseling
* Demonstrated ability to utilize problem-solving skills and a multidisciplinary team approach in planning, delivery, and coordination of patient care
* Extensive expert clinical experience providing clinical consultation and facilitating case reviews
* High-level verbal and written communication skills with high-level time management
