Haileybury welcomes applications for the role of Cyber Security Analyst to join our ICT team. This is a Full-Time, Ongoing (1.0 FTE), commencing as soon as possible.
The Cyber Security Analyst will play a key role in supporting the School’s cyber security posture and day-to-day security operations such as helping protect student, staff and parent information.
Key Responsibilities
As the Cyber Security Analyst you will:
- Deliver day-to-day cyber security operations including alert triage, incident investigation, containment and documentation.
- Monitor and respond to security events across identity, email, endpoint, network and cloud environments (stream dependent).
- Coordinate remediation activities with ICT, Infrastructure, Data/DevOps and external SOC/MDR partners.
- Maintain accurate incident records and operate within ITIL-aligned service management processes.
- Contribute to threat detection improvements, monitoring enhancements and security control uplift initiatives.
- Support secure onboarding/offboarding and uphold least-privilege access principles.
- Provide operational security input into ICT projects, including testing and post-change validation.
- Assist with vendor engagement, reporting and metrics to support informed decision-making and budget planning.
- Promote a positive security culture and contribute to staff cyber awareness initiatives.
About You
At Haileybury we are seeking exceptional people. We are looking for a team player who brings the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated experience (2-5 years) in a cyber security analyst, security operations or ICT operations role with exposure to incident triage and investigation support.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in ICT, Cyber Security or related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated industry experience.
- Working knowledge of cyber security principles across identity, endpoint, email, network and cloud domains.
- Ability to follow structured runbooks and maintain accurate documentation, including evidence handling and incident timelines.
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to interpret logs and security telemetry and escalate appropriately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain security issues clearly to non-technical staff.
- Understanding of privacy, confidentiality and child safety expectations when handling sensitive information and security events.
- Ability to work calmly during security incidents and follow incident communication pathways and approvals.
