Archivist Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Archivist to manage and preserve archival records. This part-time position involves executing archival functions to ensure compliance with institutional policies and enhance accessibility to collections.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain archival records in accordance with established procedures and standards;
* Ensure the preservation and integrity of archives, including digitization and metadata creation;
* Develop and implement strategies for improving access to collections;
* Collaborate with stakeholders to promote archival services and educate users on proper handling and use of archives;
* Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to archives management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A degree in Archives or a related field;
* Proven experience in archives management, preferably in an academic or research environment;
* Demonstrated knowledge of archival principles, practices, and standards;
* Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team;
* Familiarity with digital preservation techniques and software applications.
