About the role
DJS Built Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our dynamic team in Newcastle, NSW. As a Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in the construction and renovation of residential and commercial properties, contributing to the success and growth of our company. This is a full-time position with opportunities for career development and advancement within the organisation.
What you'll be doing
1. Constructing and installing various structures, such as frames, floors, roofs of new houses and renovations
2. Reading and interpreting plans, and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient work
3. Performing finish carpentry tasks, including the installation of doors, windows, and trim
4. Collaborating with the project manager and other trade professionals to coordinate tasks and ensure timely project completion
5. Maintaining a safe and organised work environment, following all health and safety protocols
6. Providing high-quality workmanship and customer service to our clients
What we're looking for
1. Formal qualification in carpentry, such as a Certificate III in Carpentry, higher rates for Certificate IV.
2. Completion of an approved carpentry apprenticeship is required
3. Experience as a Carpenter in the construction industry. With knowledge of how to build a house from start to finish while organising a carpentry crew.
4. Strong practical skills in the use of hand and power tools
5. Ability to read and interpret plans, and specifications
6. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
7. Commitment to workplace health and safety
8. Strong communication and teamwork skills
