Vic Permits is a professional boutique Building Surveying firm providing specialist services covering all aspects of building regulation and control. We are dedicated to providing a high quality of service to our clients. Our company is involved in a number of diverse projects that cover various sectors of the building industry, with our office located in Ravenhall (Melbourne's West).
We are rapidly expanding our team and a fulltime opportunity awaits a highly motivated registered building surveyor to become an integral team member in our business. In this role, you will assist with daily operations, working directly with the Director/Building Surveyor and other team members. This position offers technical assistance to support your role in an established and growing organization at the forefront of the Building Surveying Industry.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Process and assess building permit applications and relevant authority approvals.
2. Process and assess compliance reports, building orders and notices, liquor licensing reports, Essential Safety Measure reports, and others.
3. Assessment or preparation of performance solution determinations and/or dispensations, report and consent applications, modifications, and other related tasks.
4. Manage documentation to ensure job files and office systems are completed accurately.
5. Provide professional technical advice to key stakeholders.
6. Assist with technical inquiries, report writing, and problem solving.
7. Liaise with relevant consultants, authorities, and clients.
8. Conduct mandatory and enforcement building inspections.
9. Assist building surveyors, inspectors, and administrative staff.
10. Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills:
1. Completed tertiary qualification; Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying at minimum.
2. Registration with the VBA as a Building Surveyor-Limited (BS-L) or Building Surveyor-Unlimited (BS-U).
3. Knowledge and experience with the Building Act, Regulations, Building Code of Australia/National Construction Code, and relevant Australian Standards.
4. Experience in assessing and issuing building permits for Class 1 and associated Class 10 buildings.
5. Practical experience with permits for Class 2-9 buildings is preferred.
6. Experience with NCC Performance Solutions projects.
7. Hold a current Victorian Driver's License.

4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
