Role
As the Test Manager, you will lead the testing workstream for the ElevateHR Project, part of Program.
This role is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of a new Workday HCM and Aurion Payroll solution through comprehensive, well-governed testing activities.
Working closely with the Test Lead, Project Manager, business stakeholders, SMEs, and vendors, you will manage end-to-end testing across system integration, UAT, regression, and parallel payroll testing.
You will ensure alignment with certified agreements, payroll rules, statutory obligations, and critical business processes, while providing clear and concise reporting to project leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and govern the Test Strategy and Test Plan, including scope, environments, test data, and testing governance
Lead the development and review of test scenarios and scripts covering Workday HCM, Aurion Payroll, integrations, payroll rules, and certified agreements
Manage execution of System Integration, End-to-End, Regression, UAT, and Parallel Payroll testing phases
Lead daily defect triage and manage the full defect lifecycle, including prioritisation, assignment, retesting, and closure
Ensure full requirements traceability and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
Produce testing dashboards, executive-level status reporting, and Test Closure Reports
Coordinate with business SMEs, vendors, and implementation partners to resolve testing issues and ensure solution alignment
Support cutover planning, dress rehearsal activities, and go-live readiness
Provide expert advice on best-practice testing approaches and defect resolution for HCM/Payroll implementations
Skills Required
Proven experience managing end-to-end testing for HCM and Payroll transformation programs
Extensive hands-on experience testing Workday HCM and Aurion Payroll
Strong understanding of Workday HCM functional areas and system integrations
In-depth knowledge of Australian and Queensland payroll requirements, including EBAs, awards, penalties, allowances, loadings, and statutory obligations
Expertise in test planning, execution, defect management, and test governance
Strong capability in defect triage and cross-functional issue resolution
Ability to produce clear, executive-level reporting and dashboards
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to join an in-flight project and quickly establish effective working relationships
Qualifications (Desirable)
Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business, HR, or a related discipline
ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Test Manager Certification
Agile / Scrum certification
Experience within local government payroll environments
In-depth knowledge of the Aurion Payroll and Workday HCM platforms
