Transport for NSW is looking for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our Maintenance and Delivery team in Yennora (Yennora, NSW, 2161).

About the Role
As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic you will undertake maintenance and repairs on a range of plant items, vehicles and mechanical equipment. You will take on duties involving installation, maintenance, repairs, commissioning and modification of complex hydraulic and pneumatic machinery. You may be required to supervise apprentices or staff assisting other mechanics.
Responsibilities
* Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy vehicles, plant, and mechanical equipment.
* Install, maintain, repair, commission, and modify complex hydraulic/pneumatic machinery.
* Diagnose faults and resolve customer complaints efficiently.
* Supervise apprentices or junior staff as required.
* Adhere to safety, environmental and quality requirements.
* Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Completion of a Heavy Vehicle Mechanical trade or a Plant Mechanical trade.
* Strong problem‐solving and fault‐diagnosis skills.
* Proactive approach to customer service and complaint handling.
* Current unrestricted NSW Motor Vehicle driver's licence.
* Willingness to obtain a Medium Rigid or Heavy Rigid driver's licence and a Construction Industry White Card prior to commencement.
* Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed.
* Knowledge of WH&S and fatigue management.
* Desire to reside within a reasonable distance of Yennora Depot.
* Experience with heavy vehicles highly regarded.
* Highly desirable: AIS Examiners Ticket, welding and metal fabrication experience.
