The Opportunity
Are you looking to kickstart your career in construction estimating? Partnered with Rubiks Roofing, we're seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to join their team and play a key supportive role in delivering high-quality quotations and scopes of work. This position is designed as a development pathway, with strong training, support and mentoring provided, while you gain hands-on industry experience. Previous exposure to construction or roofing environments is desirable but not essential.
This position is full-time and based in Harlaxton, Toowoomba.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
● Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings (or willingness to learn)
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Willingness and aptitude to develop proficiency in quoting and job management software
● High level of organisation, initiative, and time management skills
● Commitment to safe work practices and learning WHS standards
Under supervision and with ongoing training, the Junior Estimator will:
● Assist the project Coordinator with preparation of jobs, quotations and scopes of work for residential, commercial, and infrastructure roofing projects
● Support senior staff with plan take-offs, site measures, and client consultations
● Learn to prepare budget breakdowns and ensure pricing accuracy in collaboration with Procurement
● Participate in project planning meetings alongside Project Coordinators and Roofing Supervisors
● Assist with variations, stage claims, and project invoicing as directed
● Develop strong professional communication skills with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
● Ensure all estimating work complies with company standards, WHS requirements, and relevant legislation
● Progressively work towards independently preparing and submitting quotations as skills develop
About You
The successful candidate will have high level organisation, initiative and time management skills. They will have commitment to safe work practices and learning WHS Standards, excellent communication skills and be ready to undertake some physical work. You will be willing to travel, work in the hot sun, and are not afraid of working heights.
In addition to these qualities, you will:
* Have completed a minimum of year 10 with good results in English and Mathematics
* Have an open Qld Manual driver's licence
* Have a construction White Card (or be willing to get one)
* Be safety-minded
* Be well presented
* Have excellent listening skills and be able to follow instructions
* Work safely
* Have the ability to pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol, and Police Check
