About The Role
As Senior Planning Officer (Open Space Network Planning) you will be part of the Open Space and Facilities team who are responsible for both strategic and infrastructure level planning for Ipswich's many and diverse parks and sports facilities. Your focus will be on providing specialist planning advice and services concerning the development and implementation of strategies, plans and policies for council's open space network.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

* Deliver advice and services to shape the long-term investment in, and sustainable development of council's open space network, ensuring performance is in line with council's corporate objectives, performance standards, and financial policies.
* Build strong, ethical, and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining communication regarding service delivery and impacts on stakeholders.
* Provide specialised input, advice and coordination into council and state government strategies, plans and policies and other corporate planning that relate to open space and facilities.
* Lead and coordinate the development and review of strategies, policies, procedures, plans and guidelines associated with strategic planning for council's open space network.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:

* Professional tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or a related field.
* Extensive experience in strategic and local open space planning, landscape design and urban design, preferably in a local government environment.
* Extensive knowledge of best practices, legislation, regulations, policies, standards and guidelines relating to open space planning, landscape architecture, urban design, town planning principles and infrastructure investment.
* Substantial experience in providing high-level advice, developing policies and strategies and providing direction and coordinating open space planning and design related issues.
* Desired Qualities – leadership, team centric, community focused.

This is a permanent position, with a salary commencing at $121,909 plus 12.5% superannuation.
