Role overview
We are currently accepting applications for a Project Costing Specialist to join our team based in Canberra. The Project Costing Specialist plays a key part in enabling delivery across three integrated project teams. Working within the enabling services stream you will provide critical support to program leadership through cost modelling, financial reporting, government submission development and program management activities. The Project Costing Specialist will be accountable for:
Responsibilities
* Developing and maintaining cost models to support program planning and decision making.
* Contributing to the development of Cabinet submissions and government decision documentation.
* Providing input into complex financial reporting, including analysis and brief preparation.
* Drafting, updating and coordinating briefs and supporting documentation for senior leadership and government stakeholders.
* Applying working knowledge of Approved and Unimproved Capital Investment processes.
* Supporting DFG-related financial activities, including budget tracking and reporting.
* Assisting with program-level planning, schedules, and business plans.
* Contributing to risk management, reporting, and program governance activities.
Qualifications
* Experience working with DFG processes and financial management frameworks.
* Demonstrated experience in cost modelling and financial analysis.
* Experience supporting or developing Cabinet submissions or high-level government documentation.
* Ability to contribute to complex financial reporting and briefing materials.
* Knowledge of capital investment approvals and defence program governance.
* Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to work in a complex program environment with multiple stakeholders.
Security and eligibility
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance. Current security clearance is advantageous.
