Insurance Underwriting Assistant Role

Job Description
The primary purpose of this role is to work within the Branch Underwriting team to contribute to the achievement of department, branch, and corporate goals relative to profit, growth, service producer, and client relations. This includes learning our end-to-end underwriting process, understanding how we assess and manage risk, and building long-term relationships with brokers and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist Underwriters in achieving new business, rate, and retention targets for assigned books of business to support the achievement of Unit/SBU/Branch revenue and profit goals via multiple key accountabilities.
* Collaborate with NUC and other internal customers regarding book management strategy and maintenance of 'one voice' with brokers. Assist with preparation for account reviews with Underwriters/management, demonstrating knowledge of risk, industry, competitive environment, and Chubb's products and capabilities.
* Manage sales pipelines to identify and develop new business prospects.
Underwriting Quality & Compliance
* Adhere to appropriate underwriting, compliance, and file documentation standards and workflows to support the achievement of Branch/SBU revenue and profit goals.
* Evaluate and make recommendations for acceptance or declination on risks based on existing referral guidelines.
* Recommend account trade-off decisions.
Producer Relations
* Develop and manage producer relationships, dealing with queries and handling any issues arising.
* Engage in external visits with Underwriters to discuss risks, communicate Chubb's business appetites, and produce new business.
Qualifications
* Competent in Microsoft Office and Outlook. Excellent general computer literacy.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills both in verbal and written forms.
* Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong customer service skills and customer-centric attitude.
* Strong attention to detail and desire to deliver and improve quality.
* Demonstrated experience working with data sets.
* Problem resolution and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work in a team environment as well as on own initiative.
* Experience working to deadlines/SLA's.
* Well-developed analytical and organisational skills.
