**About the role**
As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner you will play a vital role in providing support and educating NDIS Participants of all ages and their primary support network with behavioural challenges and promoting positive behaviour change using inclusive evidence-based assessment and interventions.
You will be required to create and implement person-centred comprehensive Positive Behaviour Support Plans through tailored therapeutic approach within the NDIS Framework. As part of a multidisciplinary allied health team, the role will require you to display exceptional communication and time management skills to be able to work both as part of a team and autonomously.
You will provide hands-on guidance, mentoring and coaching for Participants and their primary support network and build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
**Your role will require the following expectations**:
Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA) to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviours and develop a quality comprehensive behaviour support plan
Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients through confident and clear communication
Conduct Stakeholder meetings to provide regular feedback to the Participant and their Primary support network (Support Coordinators, career/ nominee, LACs, NDIA staff or others)
Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders for continued partnerships
Develop and implement individualised Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans based on assessment findings and evidence-based practices to provide training and support with strategies and interventions which promotes positive behavioural change
Collaboration with other Allied Health Professionals for continued support for the Participants
Collect and analyse data to evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour interventions and make necessary adjustments
Reviewing and reducing restrictive practices in accordance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission guidelines
High-level written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
Compassion, dedication and commitment to improving the lives of our clients
A genuine passion for working with Participants under the NDIS and a compassionate, patient demeanour
Australian registered driver licence
Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Mental Health, and other complex diagnoses
Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or eligible for)
Registered Practitioner ID with the National Disability Insurance Scheme
