Overview
At Curtin Sport and Recreation, we are committed to enhancing the student experience and believe sport and recreation on campus play a pivotal role in improving health and wellbeing. We are currently seeking a Sport Participation Officer to support delivery and administration of all sport and recreation programs.
As a Sport Participation Officer, you will be at the heart of Curtin Sport and Recreation, driving participation in a variety of sports and recreational activities. We provide opportunities for students, staff and community members to engage in all levels of sport and active recreation in a safe and inclusive environment. This is an incredible opportunity for someone seeking a hands-on position, driving our dynamic participation programs.
Responsibilities
* Program Development: Assist in the development of safe and inclusive sport and recreation programs designed to provide a positive experience for Curtin students, staff and broader community.
* Program execution: support the end-to-end delivery of sports and recreation programs and activities. Ensure everything runs smoothly and participants have a fantastic experience.
* Administrative Support: Handle the behind-the-scenes work that make our programs successful. This includes reviewing and coordinating schedules, verifying attendance, and performing essential administrative duties to ensure the day is set up for success.
* Innovative Initiatives: Continuously seek out new ideas and opportunities to enhance our sports offerings. Be a driving force for innovation and improvement within our programs.
* Safety and Compliance: Work to ensure all activities are safe, fully compliant, and conducted according to Curtin's standards.
What we are looking for
* A genuine love for sports and physical activity, and the ability to share this enthusiasm with others.
* Collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
* Relevant qualifications and/or experience in the delivery of sport, recreation or a related field.
* Hands-on approach with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and events simultaneously.
* A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment and experience in working with diverse communities.
* Excellent communication and people management skills, with the ability to lead and guide teams.
Role Requirements
* Ability to work outside of normal office hours when required.
* Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Clearance in accordance with University Policy.
* Permanent work rights in Australia.
