Project Engineer (Well Pads & Gathering) – APF Tie -In

Job Title: Project Engineer (Well Pads & Gathering) – APF Tie -In

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Well Pads & Gathering) on behalf of our client to support the delivery of the APF Tie-in Project. This role is crucial to ensuring that all activities related to Well Pads and Gathering meet project objectives, constraints, and quality standards, as defined by the client and its joint venture partners.

Position Overview:

Working closely with the Project Lead (Facilities), the successful candidate will manage the external engineering service provider and oversee equipment and fabrication vendors from the competitive tender stage through to project completion. This position demands strong technical skills, project management experience, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist in managing the external engineering service provider to ensure alignment with project objectives.
* Oversee packaged equipment and fabrication vendors, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
* Promote a project safety culture by adhering to health and safety policies and standards.
* Ensure compliance with company standards, philosophies, and specifications in technical solutions.
* Interface and collaborate with engineering contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to achieve timely and high-quality project delivery.
* Travel to project sites and contractor offices as required.

Additional Duties:

* Support procurement and performance management of contractors and vendors.
* Facilitate peer reviews and quality assurance processes ahead of project decisions.
* Proactively identify and address communication gaps or stakeholder misalignment.
* Identify opportunities for cross-functional risk management and opportunity realization.

Qualifications:

* Minimum of 7 years' experience in engineering and project management within the upstream oil and gas industry.
* Professional certifications (CPEng, PMP) are advantageous.
* Proven experience in Define (FEED) and Execute project phases.
* Background in brownfield (hydrocarbon) projects.
* Experience managing projects in complex, remote, and challenging environments.
* Exposure to global projects, especially in developing countries and wet tropics.
* Strong ability to implement innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
* In-depth knowledge of project management processes, including scope control and change management.
* Familiarity with oil and gas industry standards and codes.
* Strong commitment to health, safety, and process safety excellence.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues for stakeholders.
* Willingness to travel interstate and overseas as required.
