Job Description
We are seeking a skilled engineer to play a critical role in safeguarding our national security. As a Mission Protection Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for protecting our national security by understanding and mitigating threats to mission systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Experience working with JP 5-0 Joint Planning principles and products
* Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics
* Able to collaborate with internal and external partners

Key Responsibilities
1. Synchronizing priorities and activities through frequent interactions with the remote GPOC, command and control, and mission protection teams
2. Leading site integration into Joint Planning Process (JP 5-0) Forums/Working Groups to ensure site operations/support divisions/mission protection capabilities are represented in planning
3. Planning and organizing site involvement in internal and external exercises, and when necessary, wargames
4. Constructing debriefs to capture lessons learned to improve space operations and protection efforts
5. Collaborating with internal and external partners to equip site operators and leaders to make decisions on protection-related actions
6. Collaborating with external SMEs to understand current and emerging threat environment
7. Developing and presenting Mission Protection training to site personnel
8. Managing schedules to ensure coverage of IC Enterprise meetings occurring during non-standard duty hours
9. Identifying and capturing risks, issues, and opportunities for the customer and providing analysis and recommendations
10. Producing and reviewing comments on documents related to new capabilities, concepts, and integration efforts
11. Working Full Knowledge and Consent (FK&C) issues pertaining to mission protection systems located in or operated through Australia with the Australian mission partner
