Are you a skilled and experienced Database Administrator looking to make a meaningful impact? Join the Database Service (DBS) Team within the Department of Transport and Main Road's Information Technology Branch (ITB) and play a vital role in supporting critical state-wide services that underpin Queensland's transport and infrastructure systems. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will bring your technical expertise to manage and maintain a complex enterprise ICT infrastructure, ensuring the seamless delivery of client and network applications across the department. In this role, you will:- Manage database configurations, including installing and upgrading software, while maintaining documentation and procedures.- Assess and deploy changes to database structures and ensure optimal performance through monitoring and capacity planning.- Maintain specialist knowledge of database concepts, design principles, and architectures, contributing to the development and enforcement of database standards.- Provide leadership within small technical teams, allocate tasks, and ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.- Perform ITIL-aligned incident, problem, release, and change management activities. Technical Expertise:- Oracle and SQL Server Database Administrator to provide operational and project support for enterprise systems.- Knowledge of AWS/Azure database administration, including migrating workloads from on-premise to cloud solutions.- Strong focus on automation and scripting, including PL/SQL, T-SQL, Bash, and PowerShell.- Experience with PostgreSQL database administration highly regarded.- Expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including Oracle Multitenant Architecture, Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Data Guard, and Transparent Data Encryption.
