Foundations Care are seeking an energetic, motivated and passionate House Coordinator to step into this newly created positions available in the QLD Alternative Care residential houses in the Bundaberg region.
The House Coordinator is a hands‐on position, completing rostered shifts on the floor and ensuring all household needs are adhered to whilst providing support to the team and ensuring that the young people are safe and their welfare and well‐being needs are met, both in the residential care setting and the community.
The role is initially being offered as a full time 12 month contract.
The position will have designated rostered hours to undertake administrative tasks, whilst also contributing to new Youth Worker inductions into the house, including participation in buddy shifts. The position will oversee household needs and will include transportation and support of young people in various activities and appointments; therefore a current Drivers license is required.
About you
To be successful in this role it is preferred that you candemonstrate knowledge and experience relevant to working alongside young people residential and/or youth programs, together with:
* Demonstrated experience in developing and building positive rapport with a range of stakeholders, including community members, young people, carers, fellow staff.
* Experience in working with indigenous communities and culturally diverse people and communities.
* Understanding or direct experience in child protection or similar industry.
* Knowledge of complex trauma, neglect and other factors related to why children and young people are placed in out of home care.
Training/Qualifications
* Have a Cert IV Child, Youth & Family Intervention (Residential Care); or
* Be willing to enrol and complete within 12 months a Cert IV Child, Youth &Family Intervention (Residential Care); or
* Have another recognised qualification in Community, Youth Work or Human Services or relevant diploma or tertiary qualification.
* Have or be willing to enrol in Hope & Healing Training.
* Have, or be willing to obtain, a current First Aid and CPR certificate.
