The Company
Our client is a specialist engineering consultancy known for delivering smart, practical, and technically robust design solutions across major industrial and infrastructure projects. With a reputation built almost entirely on repeat business and word‑of‑mouth referrals, they are trusted by government and industry partners to solve complex engineering challenges others can't.
Their work spans mechanical, structural, civil, and temporary works design, with a strong presence in large‑scale industrial environments, tunnelling, and major infrastructure programs. As their project pipeline continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join their high‑performing Brisbane team.
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to step into a role where your engineering design skills are the focus — not buried under layers of project management. You'll work on technically challenging, one‑of‑a‑kind projects that demand creativity, analytical depth, and a genuine passion for engineering.
You'll contribute to complex industrial and infrastructure designs, temporary works, and bespoke engineered solutions across Australia. With every project presenting something new, this role offers exceptional technical variety and the opportunity to work on the most intricate components of major projects.
The position is Brisbane‑based, within a supportive team environment that values collaboration, knowledge‑sharing, and high‑quality engineering.
About You
You're a technically strong Design Engineer with at least five years' experience in mechanical, structural, or civil engineering. You enjoy solving difficult problems, diving into analysis, and producing buildable, well‑considered designs.
You'll also bring:
* Demonstrated experience in engineering design within industrial, infrastructure, or temporary works environments
* Strong analytical capability and a passion for hands‑on design
* The ability to work across mechanical and structural interfaces (or interest in developing this capability)
* Experience producing high‑quality calculations, models, and documentation
* A collaborative mindset and willingness to share knowledge within a tight‑knit team
* The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a high‑performance culture
Why Apply?
This is your chance to join a consultancy where engineering excellence is genuinely valued and supported. You'll enjoy:
* Exposure to major national projects, often working on the most complex elements — including tunnelling works, major industrial upgrades, defence infrastructure, and complex temporary works design
* Skill development across both mechanical and structural design
* A varied workload — every project is different
* A 9‑day fortnight (Mondays or Fridays off, flexible)
* 38‑hour week + paid overtime when client‑billable
* Free onsite parking
* Daily lunches provided in the office
* Flexibility to work from home when needed
* A social, supportive culture that respects work‑life balance
