Position Overview
In this pivotal role, you will support the Finance Controller across a broad range of payroll and finance activities in a busy office environment working to improve your skills and range of knowledge across all facets of accounting.
Key Responsibilities
* Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
* Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, journals and reporting
* Contribute to external audits and annual insurance renewals
* Support WorkCover and Payroll Tax administration and reporting
* Assist with finance systems projects, process improvements and general team support
* Manage payroll data across 16+ EBAs and Awards within a labour hire workforce
* Analyse and manipulate complex datasets using advanced Excel (including macros)
* Collaborate closely with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely pay cycle processing
* Post payroll transactions into the accounting system
* Handle sensitive all financial information with discretion and confidentiality
Key Attributes
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting
* 1–3 years' accounting experience (public practice advantageous)
* Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong attention to detail with organisational and time management skills
* Proactive, goal-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving ability
* Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage competing priorities
* Collaborative team player with ability to support senior staff & payroll/accounts team
* High integrity, reliability and accountability
