Clinical lead - voluntary assisted dying

Offer description

The Role:

Provide end of life care for individuals who have requested Voluntary Assisted Dying in accordance with End-of-Life Choices (Voluntary Assisted Dying) Act 2021 in facilities of the Department.

* Patient Care
o Perform the duties of the Primary Medical Practitioner and/or the Administering Health Practitioner
o Medical Care of Patients
o Support for the families and others involved in patient care

* Administrative and Quality Improvement:
o Complete documentation as required by the Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission including completion of Hospital records
o Support quality reviews with regard to care

* Participate as a member of the Health Care Team.

* Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible for a period of 12 months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary:

Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $300,216 -$310,389 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award

* Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

In addition, the following allowances and benefit, calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available

* Salary packaging options include a range of benefits like living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment every year.
* Motor vehicle allowance of $28,786 per annum, pro rata
* Subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of base salary plus of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.
* Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,974 per annum, pro rata
* Professional development and accelerated pathways.
* A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support.
* Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.
* other allowances as applicable.

Eligibility:

Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria as

Holds specialist registration; or

* Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who is on the specialist pathway; or

* Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who has a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the speciality.

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
