Where You'll Be Working
Burudi Ward was established in 2024 to care for Gastroenterology patients within The Sutherland Hospital. The ward consists of a 14-bed Gastroenterology unit which consists of mixture of medical and surgical speciality. The unit operates 24 hours per day,7 days per week and consists of 8- and 10-hour shifts. You will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team who are passionate in managing patients with acute, chronic and Gastroenterology care needs.

The Enrolled Nurse delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients of The Sutherland Hospital consistent with SESLHD and The Sutherland Hospital policies, procedures and standards.
The Enrolled Nurse works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse/Midwife, and assists in the provision of nursing care. Enrolled Nurses retain responsibility for their personal actions whilst remaining accountable to the Registered Nurse/Midwife for delegated functions.

Clinical supervision at the point of care is the role and responsibility of each Registered Nurse/Midwife and Enrolled Nurse within everyday clinical practice, in line with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses and Midwives.

Selection Criteria
Current unrestricted registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
Holds a Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification in medicines administration.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, other care providers, hospital clinicians, immediate team members and other stakeholders.
Supports working in a person centred environment.
Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Enrolled Nurse in applying these principles.
Must have 1982 hours (equivalent to one year full time) or more post registration experience in an acute care setting.
