Mental Health Clinician (Part/Full Time) (Psych/OT/SW/Counselling)

About the Role
Relational Minds is seeking a passionate and experienced Mental Health Clinician / Therapist to join our growingChild and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in Mildura, VIC. This part-time or full-time role (minimumtwo day per week ) offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and their families. The position is offered as an ongoing contract .
The role will focus on helping children thrive by supporting their parents. You'll work closely with families to assess young people's needs, develop mental health plans, and empower parents with therapeutic parenting skills.
We're looking for Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Mental Health Nurses, Speech Pathologists, Child and Family Therapists, Play Therapists, or related professionals.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing high-quality clinical assessments, therapy, and case management for children and adolescents presenting with a range of mental health concerns with a specific focus onmental health assessments and interventions for children and adolescents with mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, ASD, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, and trauma-related concerns.
Supporting young people indeveloping functional life skills, including self-care, emotional regulation, sensory integration in environments, and social engagement through individual therapy or through parent support.
Offeringparent support, coaching and education to support family-based interventions by helping carers better understand their child's needs and develop therapeutic parenting skills.
Providing ongoing guidance and counselling to parents using our relational framework
Collaborating with families, schools, and other healthcare providers to createindividualised therapy plans .
Engage in specific individual, dyadic, parent or family-focused therapy as needed to compliment the broader relational work.
Provide discipline-specific assessments or treatments as needed
Documenting assessments, progress notes, and reports in line with clinical and legal requirements.
Participating inclinical supervision, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of our CAMHS service
What We're Looking For
A passion for working with parents and families
Experience in youth mental health assessment and trauma-informed and neurodevelopment approaches.
A collaborative, team-focused mindset that aligns with our values
Experience working with children/adolescents with neurodevelopment conditions (e.g., ASD, ADHD) is highly desirable.
A clinician with strong clinical assessment, mental health interventions and case management skills.
Experience working collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
A commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing learning.
Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy or other attachment based therapy training is desirable.
Tertiary qualification in a specific discipline (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Early Childhood Development, Mental Health Nurse, or other related profession).
Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA, AASW, ACA, PACFA ), including Professional indemnity insurance.
Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening ID & current Police Check required .
