About this Position:
We have multiple Plant Operator positions available in our Roads Department. The Plant Operator is part of the Roads and Quarry section within the Council's Chief Operating Office. The primary function of the Plant Operator is to operate plant and heavy vehicles with precision and expertise in road construction, maintenance, and quarry operations, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment throughout the Roads and Quarry department. This role is critical in building and maintaining the infrastructure that connects communities.

What we trust you to deliver:
* Operate heavy plant and HR/HC vehicles (e.g., backhoe, roller, excavator, grader, tipper, water truck)
* Perform daily inspections and maintenance of plant equipment
* Support environmental control measures and underground service protection
* Carry out manual labour and assist across multiple sections when required
* Maintain accurate records (e.g. timesheets, inspections & incident reports)
* Deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively with team members
* Participate in on-call roster for emergency response and unplanned road events
What you will need to be successful:
* Current Class MR Licence
* General Construction Induction Care (white card)
* Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker certificate
* Statement of attainment in chainsaw operations
* Current Traffic Controller Ticket (TCR)
And one or more of the following:
* Conduct backhoe/loader operations - RIIMP039E or similar
* Conduct roller/compactor operations - RIIMP0205E or similar
* Conduct excavator operations - RIIMP0320F or similar
* Conduct wheeled front end loader operations RIIMP0321F or similar

Salary: A salary range from $34.25 to $39.38 per hour + superannuation
