The role
Payroll Officer
Reports to the People Services Lead and supports the People & Culture team for WA, Cairns, Brisbane, and Darwin. Fixed‐term 12‐month role based in Henderson, WA.
Responsibilities
- End‐to‐end weekly and/or monthly payroll processing
- Reconciliation of pay and leave entitlements
- Processing of new starter paperwork
- Respond to payroll queries and manage the People Services inbox
- Liaise with staff and management on payroll related queries
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in an autonomous payroll function
- Demonstrated end‐to‐end payroll experience and knowledge
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with a diverse range of stakeholders
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexibility, initiative, and teamwork
- Working understanding of payroll legislation, rules, policies, regulations, agreements (including EBA), awards and compliance
- Basic understanding of human resource principles and practices
- Qualification in payroll is highly desirable; finance/accounting or similar also desirable
- Strong IT skills; experience with Definitiv, Xero, IFS or Preceda is essential
