At Refuel Australia our people are the greatest contributors to our success. We are currently offering an opportunity for a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team, working from our company workshop at Deepdale, Geraldton.
About the role:
You will be part of the team responsible for the service, maintenance and repairs of our fleet of 50+ trucks and 100+ tankers to ensure we maintain the quality of our fleet to company standards and continue the safe delivery of fuel throughout Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
The role is full time. The position is based in Geraldton. This role is 7 days on, 7 days off, working back-to-back with another senior mechanic.
Key responsibilities:
• Diagnose, repair and overhaul engines, drivelines, suspensions and brakes.
• Undertake preventative maintenance and servicing of prime moves, trailing equipment, light vehicles and generators.
• Use computer related systems and diagnostic tools in the repair process
• Complete work sheets and record all parts and inventory to a high standard
• Maintain workshop equipment in accordance with specifications and working conditions
• Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times, in all work areas, within Refuel Australia sites, customer sites and on the road
• Report any incidents or near misses in line with Refuel Australia incident reporting procedure
Relevant qualifications, experience and skills:
• Heavy Duty Mechanical Trade Qualification essential
• Kenworth, Volvo, Mack, Westernstar, Fuel Tanker and Dolly experience beneficial
• 2+ years post trade experience
• Transport industry experience highly valued
• Fuel industry experience desirable
• MC drivers licence
• Safe Load Pass experience desirable
• Current forklift licence
• National Police Clearance
• Strong customer service focus, positive attitude, good communication skills, work ethic and respect for colleagues
• Knowledge of basic manual handling procedures
• Must frequently be able to lift up to 25kg
• Ability to drive long distances and travel regularly
• Good numeracy skills
• Strong attitude to safety
