The Queensland Government Insurance Fund (QGIF) is a self-insurance scheme providing property and liability insurance services to government agencies. QGIF supports agencies in managing their risks effectively while enabling Queensland Treasury to identify and mitigate catastrophe risks at a whole-of-Government level.
As the Senior Business Analyst, you will be at the forefront of driving business process improvements and supporting QGIF's core business systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with stakeholders, leverage your analytical expertise, and contribute to the delivery of innovative solutions that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
In This Role, You Will
* Identify and implement improvements by conducting gap analyses of current and future-state processes in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
* Capture, optimise, and maintain QGIF core application system solutions, including developing work instructions and documentation.
* Liaise with system teams and QGIF staff to develop innovative solutions that improve processes and proactively address system issues impacting service delivery.
* Gather and analyse business requirements, explore diverse perspectives, and create documentation to support system development.
* Plan, scope, and contribute to system development activities within a systems development lifecycle framework.
* Create and execute testing plans across platforms, applications, and data sources to ensure functionality, data integrity, and user satisfaction.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders, ensuring input is accurately interpreted and addressed.
* Provide ongoing support to business areas, including user education, training, and professional presentations to optimise system utilisation.
What Experience You Will Bring
* Experience in using the PPT and Business Framework.
* Expertise in streamlining, reengineering, and conducting gap analyses.
* Proficiency in process mapping and documentation (e.g., SOPs, QRGs, guidelines) for diverse stakeholders.
* Experience facilitating and presenting workshops.
* Skills in designing business models using specialised tools.
* A strong analytical background, problem-solving abilities, and excellent diagramming and communication skills.
* Knowledge of Information Management standards for government organisations.
* Conceptual understanding or experience in knowledgebase development and change management.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, apply critical thinking, and resolve issues using varied research methodologies.
While there are no mandatory qualifications for the role, Significant experience with MS Visio and BPMN 2.0 will be highly regarded.
