About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our team in providing expert clinical advice and consultancy to patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals within the Alcohol and Drug Service.
This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves working as part of the Hospital Drug and Alcohol Consultation Liaison (HDA-CL) team, providing care for the Psychiatric Alcohol and Non-Prescription Drug Assessment (PANDA) Unit, Emergency Department, and the hospital more widely as part of a general consultation liaison.
* Providing expert clinical telephone advice to healthcare professionals statewide who are contacting the Drug and Alcohol Specialist Advisory Service (DASAS).
* Identifying deteriorating patients, providing appropriate care, and escalating appropriately.
* Initiating, developing, and implementing initiatives and projects which improve the quality of service provided.
* Conducting training of staff in clinical topics relevant to the model of care.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the specialty field. You will be required to possess approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the field and demonstrate evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking, and analysis in your daily practice as a registered nurse.
You will also need to demonstrate effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing workloads within a complex environment.
Benefits
