About the Role:

We are seeking a Part-Time Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for processing and managing payroll using Employment Hero, ensuring compliance with the SCHADS Award, and supporting the overall efficiency of the payroll function. This role involves accurately processing employee entitlements, resolving payroll queries, and ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

* Processing payroll using Employment Hero for a range of employees.
* Ensuring compliance with the SCHADS Award.
* Managing employee records and entitlements.
* Answering payroll-related queries from staff.
* Ensuring all timesheets and leave requests are processed accurately.
* Assisting in maintaining accurate payroll records for reporting.
* Collaborating with the finance team on payroll-related matters.
* Providing reports to stakeholders and working with HR on legislative reporting
* Ensuring payslips and tax summaries are accessible to all employees within a reasonable time.
* Accurately process all AU-applicable payroll information and ensure accurate account reconciliations are carried out within the required timeframes for the financial system.
* Employment Tax payments and filing is completed accurately and scheduled within agreed timeframes.
* Ensuring records meet audit standards and assisting in carrying out and meeting audit requirements.

Requirements/Qualifications:

* 1+ years' experience with complex payroll in a large organisation.
* Minimum Cert IV in Payroll, Accounting, Bookkeeping or a related field
* Experience with Employment Hero is essential.
* Strong knowledge of the SCHADS Award is fundamental.
* High attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle payroll inquiries.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
