About The Role
As Operations Manager - Aboriginal Health, you will oversee the Aboriginal Health Care Coordination (AHCC) program across Hunter New England Local Health District and ensure service delivery is aligned with community needs.
This position works with the Northern and Southern Clinical Nurse Specialists, Health Managers and the broader Aboriginal Health Team to deliver Aboriginal Health programs to a high standard, while helping shape the role as service needs evolve.
The role focuses on leadership, change management and driving improvements in Aboriginal health care pathways.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage service delivery models and Aboriginal Health Care Coordination across HNE Health.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support across the team.
- Ensure Aboriginal health programs are implemented to a high standard and aligned with the Aboriginal Health strategic vision and the priorities of the NSW Aboriginal Health Plan 2024–2034.
- Work closely with Aboriginal communities and health partners to ensure culturally safe care is delivered.
- Drive change management, service development, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to shaping and advancing the role’s scope and future direction.
About You
- Knowledge of Aboriginal ways of knowing, being and doing.
- A strong understanding of Aboriginal cultural determinants in health.
- A strong leadership experience in health or community services.
- Proven ability to drive change management and service development.
- Track record of building strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal communities.
- Ability to inspire, innovate, and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Team-focused mindset with resilience and adaptability to evolving service needs.
