The Opportunity Due to operational growth, we are seeking a Mechanical Engineer working a Monday-Friday dayshift roster.
Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Superintendent, the Mechanical Engineers primary function is to provide engineering support to the Bengalla mine site as a member of the engineering team.
Responsibilities The role of the Mechanical Engineer includes the following: Providing support to Bengalla teams to ensure safe operation of plant and equipment Develop and maintain effective networks through collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders Stay up to date with relevant legislation, standards, and guidelines Actively promote safety awareness and safe work practices and compliance with the site safety management system Lead or participate in safety investigations, report preparation and implementation of corrective and preventative actions Provide technical engineering assistance to operational/maintenance teams Provide guidance / review regarding risk and implementation of controls for engineering changes to plant Manage engineering projects Provide engineering guidance and support regarding mechanical reliability for the life cycle of equipment and plant Qualifications and experience To be successful in this role you will have: Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Degree, Associate Degree, or Advanced Diploma Good understanding of the technical aspects related to machines and machine safety at mines Good understanding of WHS legislation, particularly relating to mines Familiarity with core standards relevant to equipment and installations in mines Good leadership skills Good task management skills Effective communication skills What we offer Bengalla values its people and their contribution to the operation.
