Your role at St John of God Murdoc Hospital
As a Clinical Educator you will play a critical role in the professional development of all caregivers at SJG Murdoch Hospital, working collaboratively with the L&D Coordinator, department managers and caregivers.
The role is responsible for the delivery, implementation, assessment and evaluation of Learning and Development programs (including Graduate Programs) in our Orthopaedic department on our St Francis Ward.
This role will be offered on a 12-month fixed-term, part-time basis, working 14 hours per week, on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Responsibilities
Support and provide guidance to caregivers (including graduates) to meet individual learning and development goals and achieve departmental objectives
In collaboration with the caregiver's manager, support them to address learning gaps and meet performance development goals and plans
Collaborate with Department Managers, other learning and development caregivers and relevant key stakeholders to support learning and development activities locally
Support an interprofessional approach to the delivery, assessment and evaluation of learning for all caregivers, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace learning environment
Support the use of standardised, best practice tools, frameworks and guidelines to deliver, assess and evaluate learning activities
In collaboration with the L&D Coordinator, identify individual, local and organisational learning needs through a learning needs analysis process
Use adult learning principles when facilitating learning activities
Provide mentoring, coaching and support to caregivers through experiential learning and assist other members of the team to undertake the same
As directed by the L&D Coordinator, use the Learning Management System to create learning events and record completions to meet individual professional development, local hospital/service and organisational compliance and risk requirements
In collaboration with the L&D Coordinator and other key stakeholders, support the planning, onboarding, delivery and evaluation of the Pathways to Practice Graduate Programs and Pathway to Speciality Programs
You will have well-developed time management and organisational skills, effective conflict resolution, negotiation and problem-solving skills with demonstrated understanding and experience in applying adult learning principles to motivate, support and encourage caregivers to further develop professionally.
You will possess well-developed interpersonal, communication, mentoring and coaching abilities to engage with a diverse workforce to conduct small group teaching and group presentations.
To succeed you will hold current registration as a Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Professional Practice Portfolio.
You will have knowledge of quality improvement and relevant Accreditation and Licensing processes and associated links to learning and development programmes that promote quality service delivery and safety.
Experience working with Learning Management Systems, and the range of MS Office packages will be required.
A qualification in, or progression towards achieving, a post graduate certificate, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or other formal professional development relating to education and training with recent experience as an educator, preceptor or supervisor in a healthcare environment will be highly regarded.

Salary: $109,599 to $115,682 pro rata for part-time (from 13th December ****), plus 12% superannuation
A 12-month fixed-term, part-time position, working 14 hours per week
