Description
The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for servicing and repairing a range of production and packaging machinery, including sealing lines, weighers, labelling systems, and cooking equipment. Duties include:
- Conducting preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults quickly and effectively
- Supporting machinery installations, upgrades, and commissioning
- Ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and electrical standards
- Collaborating with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability
- Maintaining accurate records of work performed and parts used
Profile
The Successful Maintenance Electrician will bring a solid technical foundation and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key requirements include:
- Must have Electrical Licence - mandatory***
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments - food industry experience is highly regarded
- Proficiency in PLCs, automation, and control systems - ability to troubleshoot and optimise performance
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics - crucial for diagnosing and repairing faults
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills - especially under time pressure
- Understanding of HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards - preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills - working closely with cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and a safety-first mindset - ensuring compliance and reliability
