Meekatharra District High School (DHS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Generalist Teacher to join our team.

Although our school is small, it is strong, with a teaching team comprising both graduates and highly experienced local staff. The Role

The successful applicant should bring professional knowledge, understanding, and experience to deliver an engaging, vibrant, and relevant curriculum for a small group of Year 7–10 students across the four core learning areas. You will ideally have a strong commitment to working collaboratively with students, staff, and the wider community to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. The role will involve teaching a generalist load in the lower-secondary years, with flexibility to support whole-school programs and events.

* Attractive Country Teaching Program Allowance of $13 730 per year
* District allowance of $3 210 a year
* Temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $7 000 (see detail below)

Teachers and school administrators employed at Meekatharra District High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $7 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro‐rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility Appointments for Permanent Metropolitan and South West Teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3‐year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3‐year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
