About This Role
The Senior Prison Officer - Recreation is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of recreational programs and activities, both passive and active within the location. The role also includes assisting the Vocational Services Team with other activities including but not limited to planning and facilitating events within the location, e.g.: cultural events and significant/major events.
Some Of Your Other Duties Will Include
- Coordinating and supervising a range of activities for meaningful prisoner development and engagement.
- Liaising with external service providers and stakeholders in the delivery of programs.
- Providing oversight of Recreational budget when planning, developing, and coordinating recreation activities and programs.

Barwon Prison is a maximum-security facility for men, located 6km north‑west of Lara, 20km from Geelong and about 70km from Melbourne, Victoria. The prison accommodates a complex cohort, including sentenced and non‑sentenced, high‑risk protection, high‑security and management people in custody. The prison safely and humanely contains and manages the individual needs of the men, with the aim of providing a successful transition back into the community or on their continued journey through the prison system.
