Position Details
Location: Summa Health System, Akron Campus
Schedule: Full Time, 36 Hours/Week, 7p-7:30a
Summary
Guided by nursing principles based on biological, physical, and psycho-social sciences, utilizing evidence-supported judgment and nursing theory to deliver care. Provides, coordinates, and delegates nursing care, managing resources to attain, maintain, and restore health for patients, families, and the community.
Minimum Education Requirements
* Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
* Applicants with an Associate’s degree will be considered but must obtain BSN within three years of employment
* Graduate of an accredited nursing program (CCNE or ACEN)
* Current Ohio RN license
Experience and Training
* PRN RNs require at least one year recent experience in the practice area
* One-year RN experience required for weekend positions
* Additional experience or preparation may be required for specialty units
Skills and Competencies
* Full range of motion, handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination
* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
* Corrected vision and hearing to normal
* Ability to work under stress and irregular hours
* Exposure to hazardous conditions common in clinical environments
* Current BLS certification; ACLS required within six months for critical care areas
Population-Specific Competencies
* Additional certifications like PALS, NIH, etc., may be required for certain specialties
* Ability to interact effectively with diverse patient populations
Physical Demands
* Heavy exertion, handling objects weighing 25-100 pounds
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $33.00/hr - $52.00/hr, based on experience and location. Includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and more.
