We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Migration Consultant to lead the end-to-end data migration workstream for a large-scale SAP implementation. This role will play a critical part in ensuring high-quality, accurate, and timely data migration from multiple legacy systems into SAP, supporting a smooth transition through testing, cutover, and go-live.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, and technical teams to define migration strategy, manage mock loads, and drive strong data ownership across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end SAP data migration workstream, from strategy through to cutover and go-live
* Define and maintain the Data Migration Strategy, Plan, and Approach, including scope, risks, quality standards, and governance
* Analyse, map, and validate data from multiple legacy systems into SAP target structures
* Coordinate data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and enrichment activities with business SMEs and technical teams
* Define and enforce data quality rules, validation checks, reconciliation processes, and acceptance criteria
* Facilitate data migration workshops to capture business rules, source-to-target mappings, and data ownership
* Drive accountability across business data owners to ensure timely decisions and inputs
* Manage mock loads and test cycles, including defect management, reconciliation, and readiness reporting
* Support cutover planning and execution, ensuring data readiness and load sequencing
* Provide clear status reporting on data migration progress, risks, and issues
* Collaborate closely with functional, technical, integration, and testing teams to align migration with solution milestones
* Promote lessons learned and continuous improvement to reduce rework and strengthen long-term data ownership
Experience
* 8-10+ years' experience leading data migration workstreams on large ERP or SAP programs
* Proven experience in SAP implementations, ideally greenfield or site-based deployments
* Tertiary qualification in Business, IT, Supply Chain, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Mandatory Skills & Knowledge
* Strong experience working with multiple legacy systems and disparate data sources
* Hands-on experience executing mock loads, data validation, reconciliation, and cutover activities
* Solid understanding of SAP data structures, including master and transactional data (MM, SD, EWM, FI, etc.)
* Expertise in source-to-target mapping, data modelling, and migration approaches
* Experience with SAP migration tools and techniques (e.g. Migration Cockpit, ETL, BAPIs, IDocs)
* Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and controls
* Proven ability to identify and mitigate data migration risks
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills
* Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and requirements-gathering capability
* Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced project environments
* Advanced Excel and strong Microsoft Office skills
* High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
* Experience supporting cutover orchestration on large SAP programs
* Ability to coach and uplift business data SMEs
* Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
* Background in data governance, MDM, or data stewardship
* Prior experience in regulated or pharmaceutical environments
